The newest outing from NOODS in house imprint Dummy Hand, a continuation of the inaugural release from dj_2button, remixed into five new auditory pathways via Mars89, RAMZi, MISH, B. Rupp and DJ Baklava.
Each artist presents their own take on the original tracks, imbuing their unique production prowess — consolidating seemingly disparate sounds into one cohesive extended play.
We start with Bristol’s slug king, MISH, dragging Aurora Arrivals into the swamps, building rhythm with the squelch he’s become known for, deep and dark, slow and sodden. From here the tempo is raised and the level pushed further into then red as B. Rupp leaves his noise-fuelled mark on Mood Dance, staining it as one for the goths. On title track remix duties we have Canada’s RAMZi, making an already steaming track into something fit to move the dancefloor at any time, a real weapon for the DJ, acid laced, sludgy and packed full of low end. Enter Mars89, with Distant UFO Signals under his control, he loads up on screaming noise, dub echo enough low end to shake the walls on any good system. Mars89’s restraint shines in this remix, letting the rhythm do it’s job, indefinitely building tension for you to lose your mind in. We finish with DJ Baklava’s ambient remake of the bonus track, Waves — replacing drums with smudged out vocals, lonesome chords and synthetic bird squalls which flit across the stereo field.

All the tracks are great but Stepper is the standout for me! pounding syncopated kicks, rolling handdrums and playful sample work, dancefloor destroyer.
